Communication: The NCF uses emails and facility alerts on the NCF website to keep you informed of important information concerning the instruments, the lab, and upcoming events. As an NCF User it is important to be well informed. Please remember to check the facility news on the NCF website as well as reading email from NCF@colorado.edu. Laboratory Safety: As an NCF User you assume responsibility to plan and perform work in such a way as to ensure your own personal safety as well as the safety of others in the NCF community. While you will be trained in general instrument operation and safety the User assumes primary responsibility for his/her personal safety. It is expected that you will operate all instruments and equipment in a safe and professional manner, consistent with the operating instructions and the NCF rules. Processes with the potential to affect the safety of others in the NCF or adversely affect NCF property or equipment are not permitted. You represent that your knowledge of general laboratory practice is advanced enough to permit the safe pursuit of the project in question. As an NCF User you agree to abide by all NCF policies, as stated on the NCF website at http://ncf.colorado.edu.
Liability: It is your responsibility as an NCF User to notify NCF Staff and/or management of any problems with the NCF instruments or rooms in a timely manner. Misuse or maltreatment of an NCF instrument will result in a revocation of privileges and the financial responsibility to cover repairs.
Limits on Use: As an NCF User you acknowledge that NCF is a community of professional and student researchers. As such, courteous, professional, and responsible behavior is expected at all times. Access to NCF is a privilege and may be revoked by NCF at any time. In addition, NCF Management may need to reschedule your reservation time.
Research and Intellectual Property Rights: NCF makes no provisions to protect User's intellectual property, nor a priori claim to inventions developed in the NCF. As an NCF User you are ultimately responsible for your own research and the NCF does not in any way warrant or assure project success.
Fees: The NCF shall invoice for your use on the NCF Instruments. To qualify for CU pricing you need to have your use funded by a University project/program. Please make sure that your billing information is current on your NCF account. Industry and outside CU funded customer invoices are payable within thirty days to avoid late fees. CU funded customer invoices are automatically charged against the most current speedtype you have indicated.
