The training demos for the following instruments are to provide users with basic information about that machine and also to use as a quick reference guide. Although much of the information about these machines is provided in the demo, this does NOT qualify as a substitute for hands on training.






The Nanomaterials Characterization Facility (NCF) offers hands on training for all of the instruments in the lab to both researchers affiliated with the University of Colorado as well as external researchers from industry and government labs.

To request training we ask that you register with the lab on this site to provide us with contact information. You can register here.

The training is provided by both faculty and students with a great deal of experience on each instrument. This training provides basic skills and instruction for the new user to operate the instrument independently. Independent practice will then enable the user to develop more advanced skills. Extended training is available by request as is assisted use. Each user must be certified in order to use the instruments independently. Certification will be given by the lab staff after satisfactory completion of the training.
